If you still think you can't judge a book by it's cover, then bless your pure heart. At 17, I remember holding Volume 1 of Foucault's A History of Sexuality and receiving funny looks despite its philosophical value and despite the fact that I was at one of the most liberal universities in the world.
That's the thing. You can judge a book by its cover, especially when you have no context. There are certain words that will tickle or surprise you, especially when you least expect it. Like when you're on the subway.
Wildly entertaining comedian Scott Rogowsky of New York has recently cooked up a series of fake book covers and tested them on the subway. Commuters aren't the easiest people to please (they see weird sh*t all the time), so a big congratulations to Rogowsky for a successful prank.
