Willow is a Neapolitan mastiff puppy which was unfortunately born with Swimmer’s Syndrome. This is a rare condition which prevents puppies from walking due to the fact that their chest remains flag and limbs stretch to the side. Puppies born with this syndrome don’t survive long and tend to get euthanized.
The owner, who wanted to proceed with euthanasia posted on social media. The post got a lot of shares and eventually caught the eye of Jennifer Williams, who is the president of 2nd Chances Rescue. She drove quickly and took the puppy.
After days of treatment, Willow was able to take her first steps, and finally get a chance at life as a real puppy. Thanks to a special harness, she was taught to swim and walk with ease. At 3 months of age she was capable of running and playing around like any other puppy. And at 8 months there were absolutely no remaining signs of the condition she was born in.
Thanks to the love and attention she had received, Willow has grown into a dog that everybody would want.
