Not everyone believes in it, but there's no denying that palmistry (also known as chiromancy) has staying power. It's an ancient practice that's been around for thousands and thousands of years, claiming to be able to see your future and give you insight into your own life and the lives of those around you.
Though palm reading is put into practice differently around the world, it's practiced in virtually every country, from China, India, Tibet, and Russia, all the way to the United States. The practice doesn't come without controversy — many palmistry experts disagree on what the lines really mean — but it's interesting nonetheless.
Below, an experienced palmist dives into what your love and marriage lines might mean, and how you can interpret their placement. Take a peek at your own hands and check out the information below. You might be surprised to learn that when it comes to your love life, your palms could be telling a different story.
You've probably heard of palm reading before — maybe you've even had it done yourself.
There are a lot of things you can see from reading the palms, but palmistry is particularly compelling when it comes to reading and predicting your love and marriage life.
Ellen Goldberg has been practicing the art of palm reading since a lot of years.
She’s become skilled at her craft, and she posts videos on how to interpret your palm lines on YouTube and other social media.
She talks about how various lines determine different aspects of your life.
Of course, the large line on top that spans down the center of your palm is most important. That’s your lifeline, and every other palm line relates to it in some way.
Next to the lifeline are your love and affection lines.
You can see those near the thumb and they represent the age at which you would find your significant other. The close-together lines at the beginning of the lifeline represent childhood, where your love was for family and friends.
The marriage line is present right below the little finger.
It’s possible that your love line could be broken up, meaning you’ll have more than one throughout your life. And the marriage line can tell you the same.
If you line your hands up, you can see whether or not your marriage lines match up.
Here’s a description of what the lines mean:
If your lines are the same height it suggests you are calm, gentle, and compassionate. You are likely to marry someone that your family and friends get along with.
If the line on the right is higher than the one on the left it means that you are wise beyond your years, and you are often drawn towards older people, and are more likely to marry one.
If the line on on the left is higher than the one on the right it signifies that you are very strong, self-assertive, and want a very deep, dramatic love affair.
