Happy Gilmore is one of those movies that everyone has seen — even if you consider yourself the most knowledgable and high-brow cinephile in the world. After all, it's a comedy classic that defined Adam Sandler's career, and it made everyone laugh at least once.
There are also plenty of unknown pieces of trivia about the movie, and we've put together some of them below. These are the parts of Happy Gilmore that may have gone unnoticed on your first (or 10th) screening of the movie — and they will make you want to watch it again.
#1. Happy Gilmore was actually a spokesperson for Subway.
That’s right: Before (now-disgraced) Jared, there was Happy Gilmore.
#2. Bob Barker really did kick Adam Sandler's butt.
In fact, Barker was trained by Chuck Norris himself.
#3. Ben Stiller was in the movie, but not the credits.
He had a pretty major part, but for some reason he never made the credits.
#4. You can buy the same putter that Happy Gilmore used in the movie.
And it will only set you back about $1200.
#5. Otto, the homeless dude who caddies for Happy is Adam Sandler's good friend, Allen Covert.
You recognize his face, don’t you? That’s because he’s also in just about every other Adam Sandler–produced flick you can think of.
